Continue to take a short tour to Mtskheta with Svetitskhoveli Cathedral and Jvari Monastery &#8211; UNESCO World Heritage Sites.<\/p>\n<p>Travel to the Great Caucasus Mountains along the Georgian Military Highway.<\/p>\n<p>Stop to see Ananuri Fort with beautiful Churches located at the lee of the Great Caucasus Mountains and on top of Jinvali Water Reservoir. The setting is really magnificent and the carving of the church an unexpected discovery.<\/p>\n<p>Continue over the serpentine road of the Cross Pass so named by Russian Emperor Catherine II. The Cross Pass is also the watershed and rivers on the other side of the Cross Pass flow to Russia. You descend from 2395m \u2013 the highest point of the Cross Pass to 1700m, Kazbegi.<\/p>\n<p>Overnight in Kazbegi.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Day 3: Kazbegi\/Juta<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Today we take a leisure 3hr roundtrip walk to Gergeti Trinity Church. The walk is magnificent and offers passing the meadows and the tiny forests. The views from the top are fabulous and the church is definitely worth visiting.<\/p>\n<p>In a clear weather, lucky enough, we\u2019ll see Mt. Kazbegi \u2013 the ice-peak, glacier that never melts.<\/p>\n<p>Walk back to Kazbegi and transfer to Dariali Gorge to enjoy an afternoon walk to Gveleti Waterfalls. Return to Kazbegi and drive to Juta by 4WD.<\/p>\n<p>Overnight in Juta.<\/p>\n<p>\u2191 \u2193470m<\/p>\n<p>Walking time 2.5hr<\/p>\n<p><strong>Day 4: Juta\/Mt. Chaukhebi\/Mt. Mukhadze\/Mt. Chaukhebi<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Pleasant walk from Juta to the lee (2550m) of Mt. Chaukhebi.\u00a0 This will be our camp-site but we can enjoy more walking to Mt. Mukhadze and enjoy the views from the top.<\/p>\n<p>Camping at Mt. Chaukhebi.<\/p>\n<p>\u21911100m \u2193850<\/p>\n<p>Walking time 7hr<\/p>\n<p><strong>Day 5: Mt. Chaukhebi\/Abodelauri Lakes<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Walk over Abodelauri Pass and enjoy the views of the tiny lakes. Today we cross from Khevi province to Khevsureti and on horizon see the hill-tops of Chechnya.<\/p>\n<p>Camp close to the lakes.<\/p>\n<p>\u2191700m\u2193450m<\/p>\n<p>Walking time 7-8hr<\/p>\n<p><strong>Day 6: Abodelauri Lakes\/Roshka\/Gudani<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Walk along the huge stones fallen from the rocky Mt. Chaukhebi. Past the giant hogweed meadows, we reach the village Roshka and continue to Gudani.<\/p>\n<p>Camp in Gudani.<\/p>\n<p>\u2191200m\u2193700m<\/p>\n<p>Walking time 6-7hr<\/p>\n<p><strong>Day 7: Gudani\/Kistani<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Walk over picturesque Borbalo Pass (3000m) and onto Kistani village (2050m).<\/p>\n<p>Camp in Kistani.<\/p>\n<p>\u21911100m\u2193950m<\/p>\n<p>Walking time 8-9hr<\/p>\n<p><strong>Day 8: Kistani\/Ardoti<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Over the Tsubrovana Pass (2800m) we visit Khakhabo village almost fully deserted and arrive in Ardoti.<\/p>\n<p>Camp in Ardoti.<\/p>\n<p>\u2191790m\u21931160m<\/p>\n<p>Walking time 10-12hr<\/p>\n<p><strong>Day 9: Ardoti\/Mutso\/Shatili\/Ardoti<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Today we have comparatively a short walk visiting the fortified villages of Mutso and Shatili. In the late afternoon return to Ardoti.<\/p>\n<p>Camp in Ardoti.<\/p>\n<p>\u2191260m\u2193120m<\/p>\n<p>Walking time 4hr<\/p>\n<p><strong>Day 10: Ardoti\/Atsunta Pass<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Today we start our walk of crossing to Tusheti and get closer to the pass dividing the two provinces.<\/p>\n<p>Camp at Atsunta Pass.<\/p>\n<p>\u21911300m<\/p>\n<p>Walking time 8hr<\/p>\n<p><strong>Day 11: Atsunta Pass\/Kvakhida<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Now we walk into Tushetian land of poetry with the headwaters of Alazani River. We\u2019ll see a border guard military camp and cross the river on our pack-horses.<\/p>\n<p>Camp in Kvakhida.<\/p>\n<p>\u2191500m\u2193940m<\/p>\n<p>Walking time 7hr<\/p>\n<p><strong>Day 12: Kvakhida\/Girevi<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Today we have a flat valley walk, rather easy. We pass Chontio village deserted in general but hosting shepherds in summer.<\/p>\n<p>Camp in Girevi.<\/p>\n<p>\u2191100m\u2193540m<\/p>\n<p>Walking time 6hr<\/p>\n<p><strong>Day 13: Girevi\/Parsma\/Verkhovani<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Visit the mystical village of Parsma where the ladies and the visitors aren\u2019t allowed to go to areas called Khati \u2013 the sacred praying areas of Tushetians. Continue over the Nakaicho Pass (2500m) to Verkhovani village. Enjoy evening out at bonfire and Tushetian songs on harmonic.<\/p>\n<p>Stay at a home-stay with several houses and one tower.<\/p>\n<p>\u2191900m\u2193540m<\/p>\n<p>Walking time 6-7hr<\/p>\n<p><strong>Day 14: Verkhovani\/Dartlo\/Omalo<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The car path of Verkhovani is generally empty and we take this advantage as the path offers really great views on the villages towering it. We follow the car path and at the end of Gometsari Gorge meet our vehicles to drive to Dartlo. Take the short tour of Dartlo and transfer to Omalo.<\/p>\n<p>Stay at a home-stay in Omalo.<\/p>\n<p>\u2193340m<\/p>\n<p>Walking time 3hr<\/p>\n<p><strong>Day 15: Omalo\/Shenako\/Diklo\/Omalo<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We do a day hike to Shenako and Diklo villages, including old Diklo ruins \u2013 the last point of Georgia at Dagestan border.<\/p>\n<p>Stay at a home-stay in Omalo.<\/p>\n<p>\u2191\u2193600m<\/p>\n<p>Walking time 7hr<\/p>\n<p><strong>Day 16: Omalo\/Sighnaghi<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Transfer to the Sighnaghi<strong> &#8211; <\/strong>surrounded by a wall, very romantic and referred as the town of love. From Sighnaghi you can enjoy the great view over the Alazani River Valley topped by the Great Caucasus Mountains. On our way to Sighnaghi we visit wine-tasting at a local farmer`s museum-winery and observe how Georgian crescent moon shaped bread Shoti is baked.
